TRAPEZE SELECTED BY ICOA TO PROVIDE SECURE, AFFORDABLE AND CONVENIENT WLAN AT NORFOLK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
PLEASANTON, Calif.— September 12, 2005 — Trapeze Networks™, the award winning provider of the wireless LAN (WLAN) Mobility System™, today announced its equipment was installed at the Norfolk International Airport in Virginia by ICOA, Inc. (OTCBB:ICOA).
ICOA, a leading national provider of wireless broadband Internet networks and managed services in high-traffic public locations, installed and is maintaining the new high-speed broadband wireless Internet network for both public and private areas of the airport.
In addition to providing secure WLAN services for airport administration and operations functions, airlines and airport concessionaires, the new network also provides a pay-for-use Internet service so passengers can surf the Internet, check their email, access their corporate servers, and download important documents from anywhere in the airport. Norfolk International serves more than 4 million passengers annually.
ICOA used RingMaster™, a full-featured tool suite, to perform pre- and post-deployment planning, configuration, verification, management and optimization of the WLAN infrastructure, which covers two concourses, two restaurants, a food court, and arrival and departure terminal.
Using data supplied by RingMaster, ICOA was able to anticipate the number of users and the level of traffic likely to occur in the various areas and the number of Mobility Points needed for each location.
"We selected Trapeze Networks because we were looking for a robust, centrally managed solution," said Dennis diBattista, Chief Operating Officer of ICOA. "With Trapeze, we get best-in-class secure mobility, the broadest range of services and lowest total cost of ownership."
