TRAPEZE NETWORKS AND INTERVISION SYSTEMS PROVIDE WiFi CONNECTIVITY FOR THE TAYLOR WOODROW GRANDPRIX OF SAN JOSE

San Jose venue first Champ Car locale to offer wide-scale complimentary public wireless access

PLEASANTON, Calif. — July 28, 2005 —Trapeze Networks™, the award-winning provider of the wireless LAN (WLAN) Mobility System™, and InterVision Systems Technologies, a consulting company focused on technology implementations, have joined forces to provide public Wi-Fi Internet access to the inaugural Taylor Woodrow Grand Prix of San Jose on July 29-31.

According to Dale Jantzen, president of the Taylor Woodrow Grand Prix of San Jose, this is the first Champ Car World Series venue to offer complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access. "Wi-Fi access will be available to thousands of people in the Gold grandstands and in the hospitality suite area. Given the technical leadership of Silicon Valley, we think it is very appropriate that our event be the first to provide this capability to race fans."

Three local firms are providing Wi-Fi services at the SJGP. Trapeze is providing the wireless local-area network (WLAN) — two MX-20 Mobility Exchange™ switches, 26 MP-372 Mobility Point™ radios and Mobility System Software™ — to which attendees and their Wi-Fi devices will be able to connect. Bay Area broadband provider Etheric Networks is providing a 22 megabit-per-second (Mbps) microwave that connects the local Wi-Fi network to the Internet. InterVision is integrating the entire Wi-Fi system, including cabling and mounting equipment.
