TRAPEZE'S MOBILITY SYSTEM AND G-CONNECT'S POPMAESTRO PROVIDE A COMPLETE END-TO-END SOLUTION FOR PUBLIC WIRELESS LOCAL ACCESS NETWORKS (PWLAN)

PLEASANTON Calif., and HERZLIYA Israel — March 2004 — G-Connect, a designer and manufacturer of IP service creation platforms, and Trapeze Networks a manufacturer of the award winning, enterprise-class wireless LAN (WLAN) Mobility System, today announced that they have teamed up to address market requirements for an end-to-end solution for PWLAN mobility and Identity-Based services.

The two companies recently demonstrated interoperability between the G-Connect's POPmaestro Service Creation Platform and Trapeze's Mobility Point (access point) and Mobility Exchange (WLAN switch) products. Together these products will bridge the gap between traditional basic WLAN access points and the much needed end-to-end complete and integrative solution for IP public networks and services.

Within the joint solution, the POPmaestro acts as an access controller, which can be located at the central office and manage the traffic of many hot spots, and the required set of services to each of the WLAN users. The Trapeze Mobility System provides secure mobility to hot spot WLANs in exactly the same manner, and to the same standards, as traditional corporate wired networks. Trapeze's RingMaster software tool suite is designed to plan, configure, deploy and manage the WLAN making the set up process very easy for all implementations. Together G-Connect and Trapeze Networks can provide a public network solution that is simple to deploy and addresses both the hot spot and the central office portions of the public network and its intelligent services.

The Mobility System and the POPmaestro support self-provisioning, user authentication and authorization for the mobile road warrior who might visit the public hot spot without prior preparations. Together they guide the incidental user through several service scenarios, automatically and dynamically adjusting the service profile to the user service selection. The solution is also suitable for campus WLAN services, where differentiated enhanced services may be provided to students, visitors and personnel.
