TRAPEZE NETWORKS STAGES WORLD’S FIRST DEMO OF NONSTOP WIRELESS AT INTEROP
Trapeze Selected to Speak on Wireless Security and Management PLEASANTON, Calif., April 23, 2008 – Trapeze Networks® today announced it will stage the world’s first demonstration of NonStop Wireless™ at Interop Las Vegas 2008. Trapeze has also been selected to address the conference about wireless network security and Management.
The industry’s first public demonstration of Hitless Failover will be at Interop during the week of April 28th in Las Vegas. In this demonstration, voice sessions will be set up using VoIP handset client devices that support WiFi over Trapeze MP access points and MX mobility controllers representative of a real-world wireless LAN. One of the MX controllers supporting the active SIP call will be shut off to simulate a network failure, yet the live telephone conversation will continue without any interruption whatsoever. Announced this week, NonStop Wireless™ is the culmination of an intensive multi-year development effort that brings painless, fully automated dynamic redundancy and scaling to wireless LANs for the first time. Trapeze to Address Interop on Wireless Security and Management
Ahmet Tuncay, Trapeze Networks’ senior vice president of product management and marketing, will address Interop on how to manage security and management issues as wireless networking become the default and primary access for the enterprise. Interop selected Tuncay to address Interop because he is recognized throughout the networking industry as an innovator and entrepreneur. He has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise and service provider networking and has led some of the pioneering companies in that market. His background includes leadership positions at SynOptics, Bay Networks, PairGain Technologies, and as a founder in technology startup companies.
Jim Vogt, Trapeze president and CEO, will also attend Interop to brief leading industry analysts on how NonStop Wireless™ will drive 802.11n adoption in the enterprise and deliver a progress report on the Trapeze deployment of the world’s largest 802.11n network at the University of Minnesota.
