TRAPEZE NETWORKS SUPPORTS MICROSOFT NETWORK ACCESS PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY TO SECURE MOBILE USERS

PLEASANTON, Calif., April 24, 2006 - Trapeze Networks™, the award-winning provider of the wireless LAN (WLAN) Mobility System™, today announced support for Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology. Integrating this with the Trapeze Networks Mobility System ensures less vulnerability of enterprise networked assets to attack by viruses, worms and malicious software, while maintaining policies and privileges assigned to users as they roam between wired and wireless networks.

Failure to keep mobile users' computers that connect to the network up-to-date is one of the most common ways to jeopardize the integrity of a network. Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology, available in both Windows Vista and Windows Server "Longhorn," is a policy enforcement platform designed to protect networked assets by allowing only those clients that comply with network health policies access to the network, and to isolate unhealthy computers to a restricted network until remediation services can be performed.

"Secured network access for mobile users is a common concern amongst customers as they deploy wireless infrastructures," said Mike Schutz, group product manager, at Microsoft Corp. "Working in conjunction with leading wireless providers like Trapeze Networks, Microsoft offers customers a solution that enables an enterprise-wide secured wireless LAN infrastructure."

With Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology, a network manager can create customized health policies to validate computer health before allowing access or communication, automatically update healthy computers to ensure ongoing compliance, and optionally isolate unhealthy computers to a restricted network until they become healthy.

The Trapeze Networks Mobility System, in combination with Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology, offers customers a comprehensive solution for secure mobility. Trapeze's identity-based networking uses the user's identity to define and control access to resources, including virtual LAN (VLAN) or subnet assignment, quality of service/class of service, and roaming across the network. Authorizations stay with users throughout the network, regardless of the underlying wired or wireless topology. This means workers can seamlessly roam within buildings and across campus while retaining consistent access to their assigned resources, and still be required to comply with pre-defined health policies.

"By supporting technologies like Microsoft's Network Access Protection, Trapeze can deliver the most flexible, streamlined and effective approach to securing wireless deployments, ensuring the best protection for our customers' network assets," said Jim Vogt, president and CEO for Trapeze Networks.
