TRAPEZE NETWORKS FIRST TO DELIVER WI-FI-TO-CELLULAR CONVERGENCE ON ITS NEW WIRELESS LAN SWITCH PLATFORM

PLEASANTON, Calif., April 17, 2006 - Trapeze Networks™, the award-winning provider of the wireless LAN (WLAN) Mobility System™, today became the first WLAN infrastructure provider to demonstrate seamless mobility between a Wi-Fi and cellular network.

Trapeze and DiVitas Networks, a provider of unified mobility solutions for enterprise networks, teamed up to successfully demonstrate interoperability between each company's wireless platforms over any dual-mode handset that supports Windows Mobile 05.

The companies successfully and repeatedly tested a voice-over-wireless application, handing off voice-over-wireless LAN calls from a Trapeze WLAN to the cellular network, for seamless roaming over the best available network.

"The first wireless LAN that Trapeze released three years ago was architected with the features necessary to deliver business-critical voice services over wireless," said Dan Simone, CTO for Trapeze. "We have extended that very same architecture to deliver the Wi-Fi-to-cellular services that customers are demanding. This significant accomplishment represents the first step toward the fixed mobile convergence of these two technologies."

Optimized Platform for Wi-Fi-to-Cellular Communications
In conjunction with this successful interoperability test, Trapeze unveiled new Mobility System Software™ (MSS™) plus a new series of wireless LAN Mobility Exchange switches &em; the MX-200™ and MX-216™ &em; both of which are fully optimized to support the Wi-Fi-to-cellular convergence.

The new MX-200 is designed for data center deployment and includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports. Each connection can use a Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) module for 1000BASE-SX/LX fiber connectivity or 1000BASE-T unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) connectivity.

The new MX-216 includes 16 10/100 Mbps ports, all with integrated power-over-Ethernet (PoE), and two Gigabit Ethernet ports. It is equally suited for distributed wiring closet and centralized data center deployments.

Any MX-200 or MX-216 port can be used for network connectivity, MP connectivity or both. Each MX manages up to 128 MPs and supports 3,200 users.

Availability and Pricing
The MX-200 and MX-216 set the bar with an unprecedented price/performance ratio.
