History
Enterprise Networking Pioneers Trapeze was founded in 2002 by a team of networking industry veterans with prior experience at companies such as Bay Networks, Cisco Systems, Motorola, and Redback Networks. Trapeze was acquired by Belden Inc. in July 2008. In January 2009 Trapeze Networks acquired Newbury Networks the then leader in Wi-Fi based Real-Time Location Services (RTLS), making Trapeze Networks the only vendor other than Cisco to have a full RTLS solution portfolio, complementing their WLAN infrastructure.

Innovation
Over 50 patent filings With over 50 patent filings to its name, Trapeze introduced many WLAN innovations, including identity-based roaming, the first fully integrated WLAN life-cycle management (RingMaster), and the first WLAN architecture to deliver NonStop Wireless availability with hitless failover.
