History
Enterprise Networking Pioneers: Trapeze was founded in 2002 by a team of networking industry veterans with prior experience at companies such as Bay Networks, Cisco Systems, Motorola, and Redback Networks. Trapeze was acquired by Belden Inc. in July 2008. In January 2009 Trapeze Networks acquired Newbury Networks the then leader in Wi-Fi based Real-Time Location Services (RTLS), making Trapeze Networks the only vendor other than Cisco to have a full RTLS solution portfolio, complementing their WLAN infrastructure.
Innovation
Over 62 patent filings: With 10 awarded patents (more than any other WLAN vendor) and 52 more patent filings pending, Trapeze and introduced many WLAN innovations. These include identity-based roaming, the first fully integrated WLAN life-cycle management (RingMaster), and the first WLAN architecture to deliver NonStop Wireless availability with hitless failover and much more.
